Boring summer days call for a trip to Downey Dog Park. This simple off-leash dog park has separate areas for big and small dogs.
The fences enclosing the park are secure and well-maintained. There’s also plenty of space where dogs can run around and play.
Drinking fountains are available on-site, so make sure you bring your dog’s bowl. You also need to make sure you clean up after your dog. Pack poop bags and dispose of used ones in the trash cans around the park.
There are also several benches around Downey Dog Park where you can sit and rest before heading home.
You can also check out the rest of Downey Park. Just make sure you keep your dog on a leash while you’re outside the off-leash area.
The park has a splash playground, perfect for a summer day. A baseball field and a softball complex are available on-site. The park is also home to an inclusive playground for children with special abilities.
A fitness area and sand volleyball court are also available. Visit the park’s website for more information about local events.
