Winged Deer Park has an impressive 200-acre space filled with several family-friendly amenities.
Before it became a park, it was a farm owned by the J. Norton Arney family.
It was primarily used to grow hay and is home to several large stables.
After the city purchased the property, the farmhouse became the Parks and Recreation Administration Office.
Now, there’s a landscaped patio area with a gazebo. There are also softball fields, soccer fields, batting cages, and an 18-hole disc golf course.
You’ll also find a playground and a soccer concession building.
Winged Deer Park also boasts of a half-mile walking trail and paved fitness trails that wind through the park’s forested area.
This district park also has sand volleyball courts, a picnic shelter, and public boating access.
Pet parents who have visited the park note that it’s dog-friendly. Just make sure you clean up after your fur baby.
There are historic sites at the park that are also open for visitors.
You can check out their website to learn more about reserving pavilions.
