Smothers Park is one of Owensboro’s first parks.
It was established in 1816 and has since been renovated, expanded, and improved to become a part of the city’s riverfront project.
The park welcomes every member of the family—even your fur babies. Dogs need to be on a leash while at the park.
You’ll find poop bags in all the grassy areas of the park, which is handy if you need to clean up after your pet.
Make sure you throw away used poop bags in the designated waste bins.
The three signature fountains at Smothers Park are also very popular among frequent visitors.
There’s a cascading waterfall and a fountain show every 15 minutes.
You’ll also find the Ronald Lee Logsdon Spray Park at the park, which is open from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M.
The park also has picnic areas where you can relax and an open-air pavilion where you and your pets can stretch your legs.
Parking spaces and clean restrooms are also available on-site. The park is open for 24 hours.
You can visit the park’s website for important announcements.
