What sets Rennaissance Park apart from the rest of the parks in Chattanooga, Tennessee, is its design, built with ecological restoration in mind.
Wetlands and native grasses surround the hiking and biking trails at this 28-acre park.
There are plenty of native plants and natural filters, too, to help remove toxins from the water before it flows into the Tennessee River.
Rennaissance Park’s boardwalks and walkways are also reminiscent of the area’s history.
It’s also conveniently located, so the park walkways connect to the 8-mile greenway of the Tennessee Riverpark and the south shore of the Chickamauga Dam.
There are plenty of things to do at the park, too. You can stop by the small amphitheater or have some quiet time at the tiered seating along the wetlands.
You can also find several impressive public art installations at the park.
If you need to cool down, you can go to the outdoor pavilion with a restroom. You can hold private functions at the pavilion, too.
You need to keep your dog on a leash in some areas. Make sure you bring your dog’s essentials as well, including a bottle of water, his bowl, a first-aid kit, and poop bags.
