The City of Huntsville Dogspot is a collection of off-leash dog parks or “dog spots” in Huntsville, Alabama.
There are four off-leash areas in Huntsville. If you live downtown, you can check out Downtown Dog Spot.
You’ll find it along Cleveland Avenue, between Church and Meridian Streets.
You can also check out Creekwood Park Dog Spot. It’s located west of the Cummings Research Park in Creekwood Park.
This one has separate areas for big and small dogs. It also has clean water bowls and a water supply.
If you want to enjoy the great outdoors, you can check out the Hampton Cove Dog Spot. It’s along Wade Road, off Highway 431 South.
It’s also just a stone’s throw away from Hays Nature Preserve.
Southside Dog Spot is also an excellent place to let your dog run off-leash. You’ll find it along Chaney Thompson Road, north of Green Cove Road.
No matter which of these dog spots you choose, you must make sure you clean up after your pet.
There are poop bags at Huntsville dog parks, but you can also bring your own supply in case the park runs out.
Ensure that you dispose of used poop bags in waste bins around these dog parks.
All these off-leash areas are securely fenced, but you still need to make sure you keep a close watch on your dog.
You can visit the park’s website for important announcements and more information about local events.
