Locals know the Arroyo Burro County Beach Park as “Hendry’s Beach.”
It’s an excellent destination if you want to spend some time on the beach with your dog, as it’s one of the most popular dog beaches in Santa Barbara, California.
Dogs must always be on a leash while at Arroyo Burro, but there’s a small creek a few minutes from the beach where you can let your canine play off-leash.
There’s also a dog wash station on-site where you can give your dog a warm bath before heading home.
Picnic tables, an educational Watershed Resource Center, outdoor showers, and clean public restrooms are also available on-site.
Don’t forget to pack poop bags so that you can clean up after your dog. There are trash cans around Arroyo Burro County Beach Park where you can dispose of used poop bags.
Bring plenty of water and your dog’s bowl as well.
The park is open from 8 A.M. to sunset. Check out the park’s website for more information about local events.
