Legion Park used to be a family picnic area until it was renovated in 1983 to include tennis courts, a street soccer court, and a basketball court.
This 23-acre park also has a half-mile paved walking trail and a few well-appointed picnic shelters. You can visit the park’s website for more information about renting a picnic shelter.
Legion Park is also home to Castlen Dog Park, an off-leash space where your fur baby can run around and play.
Owners are not allowed to bring treats or any food to the dog park. Puppies under four months of age are also not allowed.
Before you visit, make sure you bring your dog’s vaccination records. Clean up after your pup while you’re at the park.
Pick up poop promptly and throw away used bags in the designated waste bins.
You can visit the dog park’s website for important announcements.
There’s a Spray Park at this Owensboro park as well. It’s open from 9 A.M. to 9 P.M. during Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day.
Clean restrooms are also available on-site.
