Point Defiance Off-Leash Area is one of the best places in Tacoma for quiet and long walks with your dog.
You’ll find this 7-acre park along Five Mile Drive, just south of Fort Nisqually.
There’s a fenced roadway and waterfront bluff area at the park as well. You’ll also find a dedicated off-leash space for smaller dogs.
Bring poop bags and make sure you clean up after your pet. Throw away used bags in the designated waste bins.
Don’t forget to bring a bottle of water and your dog’s bowl.
After playing with your dog or letting your fur baby socialize with other canines, you can have a snack at the picnic area in Point Defiance Off-Leash Area.
Parking is also available on-site. Visit the park’s website for updates.
