Petrifying Springs Park, more commonly known as “Pets,” is one of the oldest parks in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
It has a ball diamond, a playground, and sand volleyball courts.
You can also tee off at the golf courses on-site or take on the park’s hiking trails.
If you’re visiting during the winter, you can try cross-country skiing, sledding, and snowshoeing.
But if you’re looking to relax and unwind, you can have barbecues at the park grills or play a few rounds of chess at the chess tables on-site.
Pets are also welcome at Petrifying Springs Park. It has an off-leash dog park where your fur baby can run around and socialize freely with other canines.
Just don’t forget to clean up after your pet. Poop bags are not provided on-site, so you have to bring your own.
You also have to make sure you throw away used bags in the designated waste bins.
The park offers access to a spring water fill station, so all you need to bring is your dog’s bowl.
Some locals stop by the park to walk amidst the natural hardwood forest. It’s especially lovely to visit the park right when the leaves are changing color.
Check out the park’s website for important announcements.
