Locals who have been to Arroyo Park liken it to a secret garden.

The park has some of Bellingham’s best hiking, walking, and biking trails.

You can also bring your fur baby on one of your hikes, and he doesn’t have to be on a leash.

Just make sure you clean up after your pet. Bring plenty of poop bags and throw away used ones in the trash bins around the park.

Bring plenty of water and your dog’s bowl as well.

There’s a stream and a bridge at Arroyo Park, too, which makes it really feel like a hidden gem.

• Pick up after your dogs, repair holes, and control barking.
