Alice C. Wainwright Park along Brickell Avenue is the best place to visit if you want to get away from the bustle of your daily life. You can relax at the park’s open area and picnic tables.
You can also play ball at the basketball court on-site or get your daily dose of exercise using the park’s outdoor gym equipment.
Leashed dogs are also welcome on-site. They can explore the waterfront with you or hang around while you have a delicious barbecue with friends.
Just make sure you pack poop bags to clean up after your dog. There are designated waste bins around the park where you can dispose of used bags.
You need to pack your dog’s bowl and your own supply of water as well to prevent doggie dehydration.
The park is also home to the Natural Forest Community, which is one of the largest Rockland hammocks on the South Florida mainland.
Visit the park’s website for important announcements and more information about local events.
