Shaw Park is a Clayton, Missouri park teeming with recreation facilities and beautiful gardens.
You’ll find it along Brentwood Boulevard, north of Forest Park Parkway, and just a stone’s throw away from Clayton’s business district.
It’s one of the city’s oldest and largest parks, set amidst trees, gardens, and open grass areas.
Shaw Park is home to Chapman Plaza, which has an infinity fountain, several benches, and a pergola. It also has a walkway that passes through a waterfall and garden beds, leading to a pavilion with views of the Clayton skyline.
You’ll also find Century Garden at the park, just between the pool and the rink. It features the sculpture “Molecular Bloom With Single Flower” by James Surls.
Other must-see spots at the park include the treetop playground, the sensory garden, and the Moneta Garden.
Picnic facilities are also available on-site, as well as recreational facilities like an outdoor aquatic center, tennis courts, ball fields, and volleyball courts.
Leashed dogs are also welcome at the park. Just make sure you clean up after them at all times. Bring poop bags and dispose of used ones in the trash cans around the park.
Pack plenty of water and your dog’s bowl as well, so he doesn’t get dehydrated while you’re exploring the park.
The park is open from 6 A.M. to 11 P.M. Visit the park’s website for important announcements and more information about local events.
