Patterson Park in Maryland isn’t only popular with locals because of its amenities. It’s also a beautiful park with a great history.
Before Patterson Park became a family destination, it played a significant role in the War of 1812.
In the 19th century, the park had beautiful trees, fountains, and pavilions. Today, locals visit to have fun at the athletic fields and ice rinks.
There are also playgrounds, basketball courts, and tennis courts on-site. You’ll also find a fieldhouse, a wading/kiddie pool, and picnic pavilions.
Patterson Park is also home to the Patterson Park Swimming Pool, Patter Park Boat Lake, Virginia Baker Recreation Center, Patterson Park City Farms Garden, and the Patterson Park Audobon Center.
Dogs are also welcome at the park. There’s a dedicated area near the Pulaski Monument where dogs can play off-leash.
Just make sure you clean up after your pet. Bring poop bags and dispose of used ones in the waste bins around the park.
Bring plenty of water, too, to prevent doggie dehydration.
You can visit the park’s website for more information about local events.
