E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park prides itself on its many firsts. For example, the Sawyer Dog Park on-site is the community’s first off-leash dog park.
You’ll find it in the park’s northeast corner just across Freys Hill Road. It spans six acres divided into three two-acre areas.
One is for small dogs, and two are for dogs of all sizes.
You need to be a member of the Louisville Dog Run Association before entering the dog park.
Visit the park’s website for more information about the rates and rules.
Apart from bringing your fur baby to the dog park, there are other things you can do at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park.
For one, you can try out the outdoor public archery range or cool down in the outdoor swimming pool and splash park.
You can also enjoy hiking along the shaded Goose Creek Nature Trail or joining a guided hike on-site. There are Supercross BMX tracks at the park as well.
This Louisville destination is often the venue for meetings, pool parties, and celebrations.
There are over 5,000 square feet of space at the Sawyer Hayes Community Center, and it can seat up to 200 people.
The park’s website has all the details you’ll need if you’re booking the community center for events.
