Many Louisville, Kentucky parks feature wide spaces teeming with family- and dog-friendly amenities, but what sets Cherokee Park apart from the rest is its breathtaking pastoral setting.
You’ll find the park amidst beautiful rolling hills, woodlands, and open meadows.
Apart from its idyllic location, it also has excellent amenities, including a basketball court, a multi-purpose field, and a tennis court.
You can also try archery, mountain and road biking, sledding, and golfing on-site.
Cherokee Park also has an off-leash dog park called the Cochran Hill Dog Run. You’ll find the 3-acre dog run at the park’s northern end.
It’s divided into two separate areas, one for big dogs and another for small ones.
Make sure you clean up after your pet when you visit the dog park. For example, throw away used poop bags in the designated waste bins.
Don’t forget to bring bottled water for your pet as well.
Before heading home, make sure you stroll along the paths and trails on-site. Then, visit the park’s website for important updates and announcements.
