Sometimes, it just feels good to get away from the noise of the city and relax in nature, which is why a lot of Chattanooga locals go to the Enterprise South Nature Park.
This 2,800-acre space used to be part of the Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant property before it was turned into a beautiful park.
The park has miles and miles of paved biking, hiking, and walking trails. There are five picnic areas at the park, which are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
You’ll find picnic areas 1, 2, and 3 at Still Hollow Loop, while picnic area 4 is at Bunker Hill Loop.
However, frequent park-goers love heading to picnic area 5 because it’s located at the Hidden Lake.
The Hidden Lake boasts stunning views of a water fixture. Amenities at the Hidden Lake include a pet waste dispenser, picnic tables, a restroom, swings, and trash cans.
There’s a wildlife viewing platform at Enterprise South Nature Park, too, where you can see whitetail deers, raccoons, turkeys, hawks, butterflies, bees, and several species of birds.
Visit the park’s website to get updates about community happenings.
